You might want to ask around about that. You'd be surprised.

I have heard that the mailing method won't hold up in court.

Just never ever let anyone see or hear anything you write. Then you won't have to worry about spending the money to copyright anything.

Now why would I want to do the world that type of favor? Hell, I would actually be thrilled if somebody stole one of my songs! That would tell me somebody actually liked the fucking things! LOL!!!

You mean copywriting is more than drawing a circle around a "c" on your covers? Heh, what do ya know!

The Mail method does hold up in court but it has to be opened in the presence of a judge after being submitted into evidence.I've been doing this for years. You can also get lyrics notarized before sealing the envelope for double protection.
Also another loophole in copyrighting a complete work (such as a cd) is that you are copyrighting the cd as whole and not the songs individually. For instance say you copyright a complete cd and it has 10 songs on it. The songs are in order from A to J. By reversing or changing the order of the songs you have created a new product. This was a loophole used to rerelease Orphan Punks songs in which the publishing had already been sold.Sometimes attorneys ain't so bad. lol
